All the HP team sends out our sympathies to furthest Durham for former solid NBA player and North Carolina high school basketball legend Rodney Rogers, who has been listed as paralyzed from the shoulders down after a freak ATV accident this past weekend.
Rodney has always been a big man with a big heart. Never one to back down from a challenge, he is widely remembered in these here parts for bucking the Triangle schools and signing with Wake Forest fresh out of high school in Duke's backyard. He had a solid, workman-like pro career that personified his post work duties, such as volunteering to teach women's basketball and driving heavy machinery for the Durham Public Works Department. Just a good ole, tough North Carolinian.
So now, it's back to being a work horse again. Someone with such a big heart and powerful attitude like Rodney can work hard and fight back from this. Let's hope there's still some obstacles Big Rodney can overcome. I fully expect him to kick this situation right in the a$$ and be back up to speed sometime in the near future. We will keep you updated on his progress.
